In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you're the mayor of your own town. It's a lot of fun—and responsibility. With a little help from Isabelle and support from all the friendly townsfolk, you'll feel right at home in your new job.
As the mayor's secretary, she has lots of helpful advice and tips on making the most of your new home.
These form the main part of your job as mayor. You can use them to build all kinds of things around your town to make everyone's lives better. Check out the examples below.
Once you've had your house built and earned the approval of the citizens in your town, you'll be able to visit the Town Hall and order a public works project. "Ordinance" is just a fancy word for law. And as mayor, you get to enact them. Choose from one of these four different ordinances:
Keep Your Town Beautiful
Choose this ordinance to stop your flowers from wilting, prevent trash from appearing, and keep those pesky weeds at bay.
If you like to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf in the morning, set this ordinance to make all of the shops open earlier and have your citizens wake up at dawn.
The reverse of the Early Bird ordinance, this allows you to continue shopping long into the night and stay up watching the stars with all your new friends.
Set this ordinance to increase the amount you'll get for recycling items and the number of medals you can win on the island.
