Protected by edge-to-edge glass that's half a millimeter thin, the MacBook's 12-inch Retina display is supported by LED backlighting, which is 30% more energy-efficient than other Retina displays on any other Mac. So even when you're enjoying the full brilliance of the Retina display, your MacBook doesn't consume nearly as much energy.

Completely Redesigned Keyboard

With the 12-inch MacBook, you get a full-size keyboard that makes typing easier on your fingertips. The MacBook's incredibly thin keyboard is supported by an Apple-designed butterfly mechanism that makes for more responsive keys and uniform results, no matter what part of the key you press. The keys are also larger and feature a deeper curvature, so pressing them feels more natural.

Pressure-sensitive Force Touch trackpad

To customize the MacBook experience, the new MacBook also features a new Force Touch trackpad equipped with force sensors that detect the amount of pressure you're applying to the surface. Now you can customize your MacBook's actions depending on the amount of pressure you put on the Force Touch trackpad. You can even set different actions for different pressure levels for your OS X Yosemite apps.
