Product Description

Ben 10: Galactic Racing | PS Vita Game

If I was 9 years old right now. Seriously, everything about that show is designed to make my younger self beg my mom for a light up Omnitrix watch. My 9-year-old self also loves the crap out of kart racers (because when I was 9 there was literally a new kart racing game every month). Do you know a 9-year-old? Then listen up: There's a Ben 10 kart racing game coming out. I KNOW right?!

If you're dumb or old, here's the sitch: Ben 10 is a very popular cartoon about a boy named Ben who has a dope watch that lets him transform into aliens. He fights crimes and travels the galaxy and sometimes his hot buff older self comes to visit.

Ben 10: Galactic Racing takes 15 of your favorite characters like Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and a whole bunch of those aliens that Ben transforms into, and crams them into go karts. You race through intergalactic tracks, drifting around corners, doing tricks off of jumps, and attacking other racers with powerups.

More than Mario Kart, the game has a Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing feel to it. Each character has an ultra move that can mean the difference between first and last place. They also have both offensive and defensive special moves that get built up through tricks and drifting.

The different racers I played with, Ben, Swampfire, and Ultra Humongosaur all controlled differently. There's also a new alien, Fasttrak, exclusive to the game. Word is that he'll be making an appearance in the show soon, but for now Galactic Racing is the only way to check him out.

The courses feature branching paths, and traps that can be triggered by other racers. I'm a little embarrassed to say I fell for the traps multiple times. Nullvoid is definitely the coolest track, with its translucent roads floating through space. Think a much deadlier Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64.
