A7 Wireless Music System

The flagship Bowers & Wilkins Wireless Music System. A7 uniquely combines the highest-quality audio engineering and best-in-class electronics with wireless Apple AirPlay streaming. A7 is a fully-fledged streaming hi-fi in a single, discreet unit.

Advanced Acoustics

Bowers & Wilkins has been a leader in acoustics for five decades. And it shows in A7. Despite its compact dimensions A7 incorporates high technology drive-units and audiophile grade electronics. If you want advanced acoustics, A7 is the obvious choice.

No Need to Dock

Because A7 utilises AirPlay there's no need for a dock. You can stream music straight from an iPhone or iPod or a computer's iTunes library. This means wireless music that simply works – anywhere in your house, without tricky setup, without hassle and without fuss.

Bowers & Wilkins Flowport technology originates from their high-end 800 Series loudspeakers, and helps provide smoother bass on A7.

Advanced Technology

A7 features a 6" Kevlar-reinforced subwoofer for rich, deep bass, and a bank of four high-quality stereo drivers, specially engineered by Bowers & Wilkins. These deliver excellent dispersion for a natural and widely spread sound. Combined with five dedicated audiophile Class D amplifiers, A7 delivers truly impressive audio quality.

Better Bass

On the back of every A7 is a Flowport, a feature shared in common with Bowers & Wilkins' top-of-the-range hi-fi speakers. The dimples on a Flowport act like the surface of a golf ball, smoothing airflow and reducing turbulence. A steady, smooth flow of air cuts down unwanted noise, and helps make sure that bass is as tight and well-timed as possible.

Audiophile DACs

Digital tracks are simple sequences of code. To turn this code into a signal that speakers can recognise, you need digital-to-analogue converters (DACs for short). Poor quality DACs can lose detail in the conversion process &– so it's good to know that A7's audiophile quality 24bit DACs are some of the best in the business. Meaning the sound you hear is that much closer to the sound of the original performance.

Bowers and Wilkins history
Nautilus is the result of a five-year research program to creat the perfect loudspeaker. Many technologies developed in this project are now found in A7.

In leading recording studios around the world, music that will soon be heard everywhere is first heard through Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers. In London's world-famous Abbey Road Studios, all three main studios use Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series speakers to capture the output of the world's biggest selling artists.

Engineering Innovation

Every discovery Bowers & Wilkins' scientists make in their dedicated Research and Development facility influences how speakers all over the world are designed and built. Technologies such as Nautilus Tapering Tubes and Flowport start life in their high-end loudspeakers, but are also important factors in the likes of Zeppelin Air and A7.

Doing It from Day One

When John Bowers set up Bowers & Wilkins in 1966, experimentation in sound and recording was escalating rapidly. It was the time of Sergeant Pepper and Pet Sounds, and Bowers had a pioneering spirit to match. His ambition was revolutionary for the day, and remains so: to create a loudspeaker that neither adds nor takes away from the music. Bowers & Wilkins has been exploring the world of sound ever since. And they'll never settle for less than perfection.
