Zeppelin Air

Nothing looks like it. Nothing sounds like it. Critics and listeners agree: Zeppelin Air is a truly remarkable speaker dock, making your music sound richer and more lifelike than you've ever heard it before. And with Apple's AirPlay wireless streaming technology built in, you can play it however and wherever you like.

Best Dock Sound

Zeppelin Air marks a seismic shift in audio quality for speaker docks. Forget tinny treble and feeble bass: play a track through Zeppelin Air, and you'll feel as though you're right at the heart of the performance. From the lightest brush of a cymbal to the mightiest bass line – it's all there, just as the artist and sound engineer intended you to hear it.

Dock or Not

Whether you choose to dock your iPhone or iPod or use AirPlay with an iPad, iPhone 5 or computer, Zeppelin Air delivers fantastic, room-filling sound that has to be heard to be believed.

Advanced Technology

Zeppelin Air's elongated shape isn't just for show. Placing the drive units as far apart as possible aids sound dispersion, helping to create a more open, natural sound. Add in custom-designed mid-range drive units and high-quality tweeters, and the result is a remarkably spacious, room-filling performance.

Better Bass

On the back of every Zeppelin Air are two Flowports, a feature shared in common with Bowers & Wilkins' top-of-the-range hi-fi speakers. The dimples on a Flowport act like the surface of a golf ball, smoothing airflow and reducing turbulence. A steady, smooth flow of air cuts down unwanted noise, and helps make sure that bass is as tight and well-timed as possible.

Audiophile DACs

Digital tracks are simple sequences of code. To turn this code into a signal that speakers can recognize, you need digital-to-analogue converters (DACs for short). Poor quality DACs can lose detail in the conversion process - so it's good to know that Zeppelin Air's audiophile-quality 24bit DACs are some of the best in the business. Meaning the sound you hear is that much closer to the sound of the original performance.

B&W Zeppelin with AirPlay

Bowers & Wilkins history

In leading recording studios around the world, music that will soon be heard everywhere is first heard through Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers. In London's world-famous Abbey Road Studios, all three main studios use Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series speakers to capture the output of the world's biggest selling artists.

Engineering Innovation

Every discovery Bowers & Wilkins' scientists make in their dedicated Research and Development facility influences how speakers all over the world are designed and built. Technologies such as Nautilus Tapering Tubes and Flowport start life in their high-end loudspeakers, but are also important factors in the likes of Zeppelin Air and A7.

Doing it from Day One

When John Bowers set up Bowers & Wilkins in 1966, experimentation in sound and recording was escalating rapidly. It was the time of Sergeant Pepper and Pet Sounds, and Bowers had a pioneering spirit to match. His ambition was revolutionary for the day, and remains so: to create a loudspeaker that neither adds nor takes away from the music. Bowers & Wilkins has been exploring the world of sound ever since. And they'll never settle for less than perfection.
