Product Description

The Nexstar 102GT 102mm f/9.8 Refractor Telescope from Celestron is designed for observing celestial objects within our solar system and larger deep-spaced subjects. This refractor-style scope features a 102mm anti-reflective fully multicoated objective lens and a 1000mm focal length. Using the five included eyepieces, it will produce magnifications from 40x to 250x. These eyepieces have 1.25" barrels, and will accept most eyepiece filters for enhanced viewing experiences. A 45° erect-image prism is included for more comfortable viewing of overhead objects approaching the zenith, and since it corrects the image horizontally and vertically the telescope can be used for terrestrial viewing as well.

The motorized single-arm fork mount is controlled with the NexStar computer controller. It comes with a database of over 40,000 objects and can be used in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Five alignment modes help to reduce set-up and maximize observation time. Pick the objects for viewing, or choose Tour or Constellation Tour mode to have the NexStar show what can be seen based on the location, date, and time. There is also an Identify mode, that allows the user to manually go to an object, and the NexStar will identify it.

A 2-section stainless steel adjustable tripod provides a solid platform for the telescope mount. The telescope assembles in just a few steps, with a dovetail plate for the optical tube assembly (OTA) and a quick-release coupling screw to attach the mount to the tripod. An accessory tray easily attaches to the tripod supports, as does the plastic NexStar holder.
