What is OptimalTEMP technology?

Most people believe that the hotter the iron, the better the crease removal. But the higher the temperature, the more likely you will scorch delicate fabrics or even burn them. Philips product development team have discovered that it's not the temperature that gets rid of creases, it's the steam.

Previously, for an iron to generate consistent steam output, you needed a hot soleplate, of up to 260 degrees – if it's too cool, the steam drips or is weak and ineffective. However, Philips have found that by improving the design you can achieve the ideal balance of soleplate temperature, 130 degrees, and consistently powerful steam, without having to change the settings or wait for the iron to heat up or cool down. This is OptimalTEMP Technology.
