How to Use
Understanding how it works is the best way to insure accurate results. The thermometer bounces an infrared signal off of the tympanic membrane (ear drum) to read the temperature. In order for the results to be accurate you must create a seal around the thermometer by placing it far enough into the ear canal.
Pull back on the ear, just above the lobe on the outside rim. Pulling outward while you insert the thermometer will straighten the canal and allow the tip of the thermometer and the eardrum to be in alignment. Keeping the ear pulled out, aim the thermometer straight in, as if you were pointing it at the opposite ear.
Turn on the thermometer, and you should get a reading in a second or two.
