Samsung Electronics today unveiled its next generation smart wearable device, the Samsung Gear S, which is set to deliver the most advanced wearable experience yet - introducing 3G connectivity to meet people’s evolving needs in the smart wearable category.

Designed with a beautiful, curved Super AMOLED display and flexible band, the Samsung Gear S contours around the wrist for a comfortable fit. The device offers a new and powerful wearable experience with 3G network connectivity, giving users the freedom to carry out their day to day lives without interruption, allowing them to be active whilst always being able to access their smartphone information.

The Samsung Gear S features a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED display, providing a richer viewing experience with a beautiful and easy-to-use user interface. It allows you to read messages and notifications in a single glance with features such as conversation view and condensed font. Samsung Gear S’s chic, curved design fits comfortably around the contours of your wrist, whilst its customisable screen options and changeable straps empower you to express your own taste and style.

Truly Connected Experience 
The Samsung Gear S  Wi-Fi connectivity. , people can stay on top of what’s happening with seamless notifications from social networks, calendars and applications, even when away from their phones. You can also instantly receive incoming messages and easily reply to SMS using the onscreen keyboard or enhanced S voice functionality. The Samsung Gear S also lets you make and receive calls directly from your wrist as well as getting calls forwarded from your smartphone. The device lets you enjoy seamless communication by freely switching between connections, automatically connecting and synchronising information once it is paired to your smartphone.

Extended Features & Applications 
The Samsung Gear S provides easy access to relevant information through essential widgets and combined notification boards. Powerful standalone features such as turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation provided by HERE, 24 hour news and views from Financial Times ‘fast FT’ together with advanced-reading technology from Spritz and the ability to instantly see and respond to important notifications on Facebook, allows people to stay up-to-date while on the go. The Samsung Gear S is also a perfect health and fitness companion featuring more enhanced multi-sensors, built in GPS, robust S Health features and applications like Nike+ Running so you can leave your phone at home and still track your runs, staying motivated while on the move.

Samsung is also announcing the new Samsung Gear Circle today. When paired with a smartphone, people can easily receive calls, listen to music and make voice commands in style through a Bluetooth connection. The device features a magnetic closure which clasps around your neck when not in use and a vibrate function to signal incoming calls and notifications.

Both the Gear S and Gear Circle will be available in global markets in phases through Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce websites and via carriers from early October. Samsung UK will announce UK availability in due course.
