The 50mm f/1.8 DT Alpha A-Mount Standard Prime Lens from Sony may look like a standard prime lens, but being a lens designed for cropped APS-C sized DT-mount cameras, it is actually a short telephoto lens with the 35mm equivalent of a 75mm focal length. The wide f/1.8 aperture, and seven circular aperture blades, provide excellent out of focus, "bokeh" background effects as well as faster shutter speeds for low-light shooting.
Build with Sony's Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM), the 50mm lens elements are directly controlled by the SAM unit for fast yet smooth AF when you need it most. To reduce chromatic aberrations, Sony also built Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass into the elements, producing sharper images with well defined contrast.
Compact, lightweight, easy to carry
Circular aperture for smooth, natural defocusing
Responsive internal SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) AF drive
Bright enough for handheld shooting in low light
35 mm equivalent focal length: 75 mm
