Sony XPERIA Sola (White, 8GB, HSN Warranty)
BRAND: SONY
It seems that Sony is really occupied expanding their Xperia line-up. With the release of Xperia Sola the company maintains its impression of being in good shape. Xperia Sola has somewhat common design that we have seen back in 2012 in Xperia siblings. The smartphone offers a couple of noticeable features to fill the gap of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0 update). The handset packs in a highly crispy reality display with Floating touch along with a super powerful dual-core processor. It also offers NFC and a few NFC tags to have fun with.
Sony has followed a fixed style of design for all its 2012 smartphones except for the lucky Xperia Sola which delivers a distinct design that is quite descent. There is neither any transparent bar or curved back instead Xperia Sola comes with an all square design. Another noticeable difference is its thin slim bottom which is certainly a change from Xperia NXT series. Users looking for a reasonably sized smartphone, let us tell you here that Xperia Sola is the perfect choice. It offers a 3.7 inch display with a thickness of 9.9 mm and weighing just 107 grams. Coming down to other hardware specifications Xperia Sola has its capacitive buttons situated below the display. Besides, there is a volume rocker, two-stage dedicated camera and micro USB port on the right side while the power button lies on the left. On the top we have 3.5 mm audio jack. The back of the smartphone houses a 5MP camera with LED flash. The camera supports upto 720p video recording and believe us the results are fairly descent.
Sony shipped Xperia Sola with Ginger Bread on board. Besides, the company has also integrated its custom interface above Android 2.3. This interface is beautiful with delicate animations and effects. It also has the ability to create folders and take screen shots both which were offered in Ice Cream Sandwich release. Talking about preloaded apps it has timescape which is just like a hub for your social network feeds. Other apps include Track ID, stopwatch, timer, reminder, world clock, neo reader and office suite apps. These apps basically add value to consumer experience.
Sony Xperia Sola doesn’t revolve around HD screens, high mega pixel cameras and Quadcore CPUs, instead it follows the strategy of 80 - 20 rule. In simpler words it tries to deliver of 80% functionality when it comes to performance for 20% of the price. We can say here with full confidence that Xperia Sola is a solid effort from Sony. Considering its floating touch screen and other charming features, we surely like the overall look and feel of the phone, the solid built is also a good addition which goes in its favor.
