This is a 23.8" monitor with a 1080p 60Hz display which is IPS.
Since it's an Asus monitor it has the Smart Contrast ratio.
I don't usually have a number scheme for scores cos i believe they are arbitrary but I'll try it out using a score of 100.
Color and Image quality
Colors look darker than on my original monitor which is the VX238H (if you want me to review that then I will) after i had calibrated my original. The VX239H is an IPS panel unlike the VX238H which is why the colors look more vivid and vibrant.
This is how i usually configure monitors:
Brightness - 100
Contrast - 40
Saturation - 50
Color Temp - User Mode
Skin Tone - Natural
Sharpness - 40
What I will say about the color of the VX239H is that it's objectively a lot more pleasant to look at which is why I'm giving it a 80/100. To this monitor grays look like gray and so on. However if i compare the VX239H's to the VX238H's colors, what looked gray on the 239H looked blue ish on the 238H.
Viewing Angles
Its an IPS panel so i was expecting good viewing angles and in fact it had great viewing angles. Which is why i'll give that a 80/100
Stands
The stand is solid feeling and is quite robust so i'll give it a 80/100.
I/O
2 HDMI, a VGA, audio and mic output and it supports MHL over HDMI and includes an MHL cable in the box. Not bad for 1080p but I would have preferred if there was DVI-I as well. So this gets a 90/100.
Interface
Really good, arguably one of the best ever. Also the buttons which help navigate the BIOS of the monitor (yes monitors have BIOSes) and it is touch sensitive as opposed to feeling more like a button press on the VX238H. So for this I'll give it a 95/100.
Build Quality
Build Quality is quite good and the monitor has minimal bezels so definitely a great one in my books. GOnna give it a 95/100 here.
Average - This on average gets an 86.7/100 and get's a recommendation from me if you need or want a 1080p IPS monitor. Good job Asus, just add some more ports and make it easier to screw in the stand to the body.
