Frequently Asked Questions

How do you charge them?

To charge your Beats Studio Buds, place them in the charging case. When you need to charge both the earbuds and the case, place the earbuds in the case and connect the case to a power source with the USB-C cable that's included with your Beats Studio Buds. You can also charge the case without the earbuds. (Note: USB-C power adapter sold separately).

How do you turn them on and off?

Beats Studio Buds automatically power on when they are removed from the case, and power off when placed back in the case with the lid closed.

Can you control your music?

Beats Studio Buds feature a multi-function button on each earbud. Press once to play or pause, twice to skip forward, or three times to skip backward.

How do you control noise cancelling?

Hold the multi-function button down to toggle between Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode.

How do I improve the comfort, stability, and sound quality of your Beats Studio Buds?

Beats earphones come with several sets of eartips. Choose the pair that's most comfortable and provides the best sound experience for you. If your earphones don't already have eartips attached, choose a set of eartips and attach them. Then gently insert the eartip into your ear. You can adjust the eartip until it feels secure. To remove the eartip from your ear, twist the earphone gently and pull it away from your ear.

How do I activate Siri or other voice assistants?

On Apple devices, you can activate Siri hands-free just by saying “Hey Siri”. Or, change the function of the multi-function button to activate your voice assistant within your iOS settings. On Android, download the Beats app to change the function of the multi-function button to activate the default voice assistant on your device.

How do I configure the multi-function button?

You can configure the multi-function button to either toggle ANC modes or activate voice assistant. To do this in iOS, tap on the product icon in Control Center and select the “Press and hold” menu to choose your preferred function for each earbud. To do this on Android, download the Beats app from Google Play. Once your product is paired in the app, select the “Press and hold” menu in the product page to choose your preferred function for each earbud.

How long does the battery last?

Beats Studio Buds can provide up to 8 hours of listening time with ANC turned off, or up to 5 hours of listening time with ANC turned on. The case holds two additional charges for a combined total of 24 hours with ANC off, or 15 hours with ANC on.

Do they have a microphone?

Beats Studio Buds have multiple microphones on each earbud enabling high-quality call performance. Each earbud has 2 microphones dedicated to ANC and 1 dedicated to voice pickup.

How do I pair with my iPhone?

Beats Studio Buds are ready to pair right out of the box. On iPhone running the latest iOS, simply open the lid of the case, hold near unlocked phone, and follow on-screen instructions.

How do I pair with my Android device?

On Android, you can pair your product in a single tap using Google Fast Pair. In order to access the feature, you must have Android 6.0 or later, location enabled, and access to Google Play Services. If you meet those requirements, simply open the lid of the case, hold near unlocked phone, and follow on-screen instructions. You can also pair your product in the standard Bluetooth menu.

How do I pair with my Mac or with another device that uses Bluetooth?

Make sure that you turned on Bluetooth on your Mac or other device. With the case lid open, hold your Beats Studio Buds next to your Mac or other device. Press and hold the system button on the charging case until the LED blinks. Open the Bluetooth menu on your Mac or other device. For example, on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. In the list of discovered Bluetooth devices, tap or click your Beats Studio Buds.

How do I pair with additional Bluetooth devices?

To pair to additional devices, place the earbuds in the case with the lid open. Then hold down the small circular button until the LED begins to flash. Beats Studio Buds are now in pairing mode and can be paired to any standard Bluetooth device.

Can I wear just one earbud?

Yes, you can use either earbud independently.

How waterproof / water resistant are these?

Beats Studio Buds are rated IPX4, which means they are resistant to sweat and water splashing from any direction. The case is not sweat or water resistant.

How do I keep my product up to date?

Software updates will occasionally be made available to enable new features or improve the product experience. These ‘silent’ updates are automatically enabled when connected to an Apple device. To stay up to date on an Android device, download the Beats app from Google Play.

Papa Boots
4.0 out of 5 stars  Pretty good. Not GREAT, but not bad.
Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2021
Color: Red Verified Purchase
Whenever I see something with a 4-star review, it usually means it’s a solid product but there’s something (or somethings) keeping it out of 5-star range.

For me, these are a perfect example of that. They’re small (good), not terribly obtrusive (only some out-of-ear-stick-out, tho your experience may vary), the sound has some solid bass which is helpful for the gym (where I tested these out), the sound overall is clear (download some equalizer apps to play with the sound itself), and they stayed in my ear well. I don’t know much about soundstage or whatever, but the sound itself is clear, bass is nice and strong, and you can hear even the subtle nuances like the shifting of a hand on guitar strings clearly enough without being disturbed. That, to me, is the sign of a good earbud.

The transparency mode and noise canceling modes were alright. But that’s just it, they’re alright. Granted, the AirPod Pros have a higher price tag, so they do the ANC and Transparency mode much better. So it’s understandable that these would do the same, but on just the slightest bit of a lower level.

I’m also spoiled bc the Airpod Pros have wireless charging. These DO have USB C, but the lack of wireless charging is a small thing, really. There’s something about being able to toss these on a charging pad and leaving them there to charge that’s just so satisfying. Also, was not a fan of how the case just doesn’t have that “premium” feel. The matte finish is nice, tho I would have liked a little more weight in the case lid, but at this point, these are such little (and I mean LITTLE) things that really, it’s not a dealbreaker.

My only thing is the amount they stick out. I’m sorry, but they do look a little…funny, the way they sort of stick out just a bit so that the “b” logo is upright. They don’t stick out a LOT, but juuuuust enough that when you look in the mirror, you’ll see a vertical line where the physical button (which I have managed to press on accident a couple of times while adjusting the bud) sticks out. Also, I had a little difficulty getting them to stay in, but that’s beyond pretty much anyone’s control.

These get that 4th star because of just how they are a solid enough product worth the purchase. They don’t do any one thing particularly well, but there are just enough teeny things for me that I wouldn’t say these are the best I’ve ever used. (For comparison, the Jabra 75t gets the equivalent of a 4.3 rating…the hear-through is amazing and their app really helps boost functionality).

For me, these are SOLID gym earbuds. They play music loudly, clearly enough, and the bass is strong enough for me that I can drown out whatever annoying other music is playing outside. They fit and stay relatively well. For the price tag, you get some good bang for the buck. You could do worse, but at this range, depending on if you want to pitch in a few more, you could also do better.

5.0 out of 5 stars  AirPods Pro GOODBYE
Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2021

I love these! I have the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro and these are way better! With the AirPods Pro the un ear fit was horrible these kept falling out which sucked! With these they fit perfect and don’t even feel like I have anything in my ear. I like that they don’t have a long stem popping out because If anybody is like me and has there earbuds on while putting on a sweater the AirPods fall off but these don’t get tugged on by the stem because they don’t have one! If anybody loves the bass in songs these are great! Absolutely love this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars  Truly an Air Pods Pro Lite version
Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2021
Color: Red Verified Purchase
I started off giving these earbuds 4 stars, and then realized that I was unfairly comparing them to Air Pod Pro's that are over $100 more expensive. For the relative value, these earbuds fit the bill.
Feel: These earbuds are a bit slippery, and with the squat design it makes them a bit hard to grab. However, they fit snug into my ear so I don't have to over handle them much anyway. It takes getting used to putting them back into the case correctly.
Looks: I like the variable colors. I bought these because I misplaced my tiny white Air Pods Pro case (whose last location deleted after 24 hours because Apple is a money monger). This red case is bigger but not cumbersome.
Interaction: I don't like the button on the outsides of the buds. I wish the button was on the bottom with more of a squeeze function. To click the button, I have to essentially jam the bud further into my ear to get it to press. I also like to lay down with my buds in, but if I turn my ears against the pillow, the button is constantly pressing. A button positioned on the button (or top) would be way easier to pinch when on purpose without accidental clicks. At least clicking it doesn't pull the buds out of my ear; an issue I had with the lever arm of the APPs.
Sound quality and connection: Good enough for me. Calls connected and sounded just fine. I don't need my phone calls to have live orchestra quality. The music seems good too. Not overly bass forward but crisp.
ANC/Occlusion: The occlusion effect seems slightly worse than the Air Pod Pro's but no where near as bad as the Jabra's and other brands. I can sometimes hear my stomping on pavement but I don't hear my blood flow or anything. The ANC/transparency is also relatively equitable to the APPs, of course slightly not as significant in quality because these buds are much cheaper. It does seem to smartly block out certain sounds; i.e. my HVAC, while letting through someone calling my name.
Haven't really tested the battery life but supposedly they're better than APP. Again, these are solid buds for the price. You get what you pay for, and these buds seems to prioritize what I actually care about so you don't have to pay $250 every time your APPs or Bose go missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars  For the price, it's a no brainer for me.
Reviewed in Canada on July 7, 2021
Color: Black Verified Purchase
Pros:
- Very comfortable fit and design (stays put during workouts/running and has no pressure build up)
- Decent ANC, maybe a notch below Airpods Pro but still a difference maker
- IPX4 water resistance rating (tested through sweat and a little rain and no issues for me)
- 8 hrs battery with ANC on, and 5 hrs with ANC off + 2 charges in case
- Dynamic, boomy and bass heavy sound that is perfect for intense gym workouts or rap/EDM/hip hop
- Volume gets very loud (they are maybe 1-2 ticks louder than Airpods Pro/Galaxy Buds Pro)

Cons:
- Case feels a little hollow with fingerprint oils showing easily
- No wireless charging
- Soundstage could be a little wider, vocals can be a bit overshadowed by the heavy bass
- Transparency mode feels a little too robotic

3.0 out of 5 stars  un bon produit mais... je m’attendais à mieux
Reviewed in Canada on June 27, 2021
Color: Red Verified Purchase

1.0 out of 5 stars  Terrible, Not worth the money!
Reviewed in Canada on July 10, 2021

These Beats Earbuds are the worst, and I repeat the WORST product of DrDre Beats I ever bought. I love my earbuds very much but CMON I can't even listen to music properly, not to mention even use the noise cancellation and transparency correct, because they don't work OUTSIDE at all. Don't bother to buy this for Android users, it will probably work better in Apple because of the Volume Button which THEY DONT EVEN HAVE! on earbuds really? Have they lost their minds selling this product. I repeat to all customers who look at this product, don't bother buying them. Buy better earbuds with cheaper price then this expensive fraud garbage. It's a waste of money and a huge rip off when paying for quality sound control on earbuds or when listening to music, so I repeat DONT BUY THEM!!!

These headphones are nice and noise canceling but I feel like the volume is much lower than my other beats ear buds. I even went to my control settings on my android to make sure my media volume was all the way up. Still great but just a heads up.
