Product Description

HTC Sensation XL Price & Specs

Surely most of you will know about the HTC Sensation, which was HTC prized horse in the dual-core race of the past. As recent as that may sound, those were the olden days and you will find dual-core processors nowadays under every rock you can pick. Hence, HTC has refreshed its flagship with a larger screen and a zippier processor. And what a beauty that screen is. Although the tech used in this display is none other than the SuperLCD that you have come to love and adore about the Sensation and the Incredible S but the size just seems to add to wonder of this display. There is no doubt in our mind that this display is perhaps the only competitor SuperAMOLED has in the market and its safe to say that the competition is very very close. Besides the display, the hardware is your run-of-the-mill HTC superhone with impeccable engineering and nothing new to talk about. Another notable thing is that we all know HTC has been a little stingy on internal storage, but on this device HTC has gone all out to include a 16GB of internal memory. Also included is an excellent 8MP camera that was capable of taking above average pictures yet not in the same realm as the Galaxy S II. Other specifications can be found in the complete list below.

This  device comes with Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 preloaded with Sense 3.5 on top of it. This device is not HTC’s second device with Sense 3.5 after the HTC Explorer. The software has an overall feeling of zippiness which we must say is even slightly better than the Galaxy S II, which is to say a lot since the Galaxy S II is without doubt the fastest Android smartphone, or maybe it was. The UI is much less intrusive than Sense 3.0 which is a good thing. A notable addition in terms of sofware is the presence of Beats Audio. We include this in the software section since the Beats audio setting is basically an equilizer setting that gives you above average sound with the Sensation XL with the specified earpieces in tow. We must say that the sound quality does become above average with the Beats addition but we would like out users to know that you can just as well get the same qualtiy on your original Sensation using third party equalizer Apps but those apps are no free. Also the headphones provided with the device are a much better quality than the stock offering, so overall, the devcie is a good bargain for you buck.

Initial Impressions

The Sensation XL is truly HTC’s new flagship and will undoubtedly be on top of all HTC fans’ list. The device has a truly amazing display, the latest version of Sense and Beats Audio. Out of all the devices within its range, the biggest factor that it will come down to between this device and the 1.5 GHz version of Samsung’s flagship would be HTC’s Sense UI. The call quality in the device is above average and it doesn’t miss out on signals where its not supposed to. This is an ideal device for someone who is new to HTC and wants to know what pinnacle of HTC’s engineering and software.
