The MXO2 Rack Mount System is a high-quality I/O capture card and a rack-mountable breakout box combination with 2RU size, which provides you with a wide array of broadcast-quality audio and video inputs and outputs. Supporting operation on Mac systems, the MXO2 offers high portability and flexibility allowing you to use the system among Mac Pros, installation in OB vans, or with MacBook Pros.
You are provided with high-quality HDMI video monitoring capabilities along with an array of Matrox calibration control such as blue-only.
A 10-bit hardware scaling engine offers 10-bit HDMI input, output, and monitoring along with 10-bit real-time hardware up/down/cross conversion on capture and output. You can playback H.264 and .mov format movies via the Matrox Vetura stand-alone application.
A wide array of broadcast-quality HD/SD video and audio input and outputs such as HD/SD SDI, HD/SD analog component, Y/C, and composite with 5.1 surround sound monitoring are provided by the MXO2. User-selectable simultaneous video outputs including HD and/or SD on HDMI, SDI, and analog are also offered. You are provided with SD analog black burst (bi-level) or HD tri-level sync Genlock signals. Accurate frame-capture is enabled via RS-422 based machine control.
Codecs such as Apple ProRes 422 HQ and 10-bit uncompressed HD, file-based workflows such as XDCAM, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, P2, and P2HD, and RED workflows are supported by the MXO2 along with HD-SDI closed captioning and AFD support. Hardware acceleration is also provided for Final Cut Pro Dynamic RT segments, HDV, and DVCPRO HD. You can use it with a variety of applications such as Final Cut Pro, Apple Color, Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro on MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and Apple Xserve systems.
The MXO2 system can be used in varied environments such as in studios, on set, in the field, and in OB vans owing to its convenient form factor that makes the system lightweight at 3.5 lb (1.6kg) and compact 13 x 9.5 x 2" (330 x 241 x 51 mm).
