Microsoft Corporation said to introduce three variant of the Surface Phone: a consumer model; a business model; and an enthusiast edition. The business model is target business and corporate users, according to the rumors mill.
The base model will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with a mid-range offering coming with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The Surface Phone would support Win32 apps, allowing users to run legacy Windows program that they run on their PCs. The availability of Win32 apps on the Phone would encourage Android and iOS users to buy the Windows phone. Tech pundits believe that the Surface Phone could get an edge over iPhone and Android devices if it comes with Win32 apps support.
The Surface Phone is expected to sport a 20 megapixel rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens. As far as the processor inside the Phone is concerned, there isn’t a clear picture. Some reports suggest that the Surface Phone will feature a Kaby Lake processor from Intel. Recent rumors indicate that the Phone will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.
The Surface Phone, to be powered by Windows 10 Redstone operating system, is said to come with a unique fingerprint sensor. The tech giant recently filed a patent suggesting to integrate a fingerprint sensor on the phone’s display.
According to the rumors mill, the Surface Phone would cost between $699-$1100. The base model is expected to get a price tag of $699, while the high-end phone (may be the business model) would be offered at $1,099.
