Superior NIKKOR optics maintain image brightness throughout the zoom range, from f/2 at 28 mm wide, to f/4 at 200 mm telephoto*. Even when zoomed all the way out, images remain brilliant with high optical resolution. The seven-blade iris diaphragm enables beautifully defocused backgrounds, while the lens-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) system provides compensation for camera shake.
The large CMOS image sensor enables great tonal gradation, and the Backside illumination structure optimizes CMOS light intake for superior results when shooting at night.
Equipped with both a swiveling LCD screen on the rear and a viewfinder on top of the camera, you can choose the shooting style that best suits you. Adopting an RGBW LCD monitor with high-brightness display setting enables superior visibility outdoors.
Although compact, this camera handles like a D-SLR, with exposure dial, quick menu button, and function buttons for frequently used features. A rich selection of optional accessories lets you customize your photographic experience, including Nikon Creative Lighting System which lets you use this camera's built-in flash as the "commander" to control external Speedlights for synchronized operation. Optional units available for Wi-Fi® and GPS support.
Shoot Full HD 1080p resolution movies. A mode/M mode recording possible. AV stereo output, USB and HDMI for versatile connection, and 30 fps/25 fps switching for flexible output.
