Looking farther ahead to next summer, some information about the OnePlus 4 was recently discovered on Weibo. According to the post, this model will be released in June or July of next year. Supposedly powering the handset will be the Snapdragon 830 SoC. The unannounced chipset was originally thought to be produced by Samsung using the 10nm process.
OnePlus creates beautifully designed products with premium build quality & brings the best technology to users around the world. No tradeoffs, we #NeverSettle.
However, Samsung is said to be behind schedule in producing the chip. As a result, there is talk that Qualcomm is turning production of the Snapdragon 830 over to TSMC. The latter has yet to mass produce chips using the 10nm process yet, which means that a TSMC produced Snapdragon 830 chipset might not provide the same power efficiency as Samsung's version would have. So far, this rumor has not been confirmed.
Speculation is calling for the OnePlus 4 to be rockin' a CPU running at a clock speed of 3.0GHz, with an Adreno 620 GPU inside. A 4000mAh battery is said to be in charge of keeping the lights on, and Android 7.0 will be pre-installed.
