The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS is the first lens in the company’s ‘Sports’ lineup for mirrorless cameras which, in this case, are E and L mounts. This super-telephoto zoom has a whopping 25 elements, include four ‘FLD’ and two ‘SLD’ elements. A Super Multi-Layer coating helps reduce ghosting and flare. The focus group is driven by a stepping motor. The lens is stabilized, with up to four stops of shake reduction.
The 150-600 is a hefty, weather-sealed lens. It has a torque switch which allows you to change the resistance on the zoom ring (the lens can always be zoomed using a push/pull method). There’s a built-in tripod ring which has an Arca Swiss plate and can rotate in 90 degree increments. The lens also has three AF-L buttons as well as custom mode, focus limiter and stabilization switches.
The minimum focus distance is 2.8m (110″) and the max magnification is 0.34x.
