The Swedish Chameleon SC4: SMALL Shoulder Support is a lightweight run and gun rig with a sliding (dovetail) quick release plate and curved handles.
SC4: SMALL is an entry-level support that can be easily upgraded to an SC4: MEDIUM or SC4: LARGE as your needs grow. It fits DSLRs or boxstyle videocameras and is also compatible with most cages. The SC4: SMALL can be assembled for left-hand or right-hand use.
The SC:ROD S-SHAPED 15 x 400mm CC110 consists of a lightweight, simple, foam-dressed shoulder piece. Depending on how you rotate the rod you can make vertical adjustments (chest to eye level) of as much as 22cm. You can choose to keep the rod under your arm, lean it on your shoulder, or detach it completely from the support. Having the rig resting on your shoulder instead of pressing it towards your chest reduces arm fatigue and gives you a third stabilization point that does wonders for reducing shakiness.
The S-Shaped Rod is connected to the SC4:DT CAMERA QR PLATE by a SC4:DT CLAMP SINGLE ROD 15mm; this clamp can be positioned for both left-hand or right-hand shooting. The clamp simply slides onto the plate and is secured with a knob.
The SC4:DT CAMERA QR PLATE is the core of the SC4:SMALL since both the SC4:DT CLAMP SINGLE ROD 15mm and the SC4:DT HANDLES UNIT are attached to it. This makes it fast to go from no rig/tripod setup to a full shoulder setup - just keep the SC4:DT CAMERA QR PLATE attached to the camera. The plate is Manfrotto 501PL compatible.
If your camera only has one mounting hole, use the included SC4:DSLR FIXATION PLATE. The plate's anti-skid rubber together with provided pins creates an anti-twist system to keep the camera from rotating on any quick release plate. It has 2 x 1/4” and 2 x 3/8” threaded holes for mounting of the quick release plate. Two holes at the back of the plate enable mounting of viewfinder frames and extra anti-rotation bracket (sold separately).
The SC4:DT HANDLES UNIT consists of a dovetail dual 22mm rod clamp, two 22 x 130mm rods, and two curved handles with rubber grip. It has a wide distance of 140mm from center to center giving you roll stability and a comfortable arm position. The 22mm handle rods can be adjusted horizontally and rotated to always allow for a perfect position of the handles. You can also turn the handles straight up creating a v-rig for low-down shooting. The SC4:DT HANDLES UNIT easily slides onto the SC4:DT CAMERA QR PLATE and is firmly secured by a knob.
This rig is made from 7075 CNC-machined aluminum.
