Overview
It is not a secret that Motorola’s Mobile division has been having problems lately. The company has failed to produce a single memorable device for years now. The Droid family has been a beacon of hope for the company but it has mostly been complied with forgettable handsets. The company is now try to solve this problem from another angle. It seems that the management sat down and thought hard and deep about the essence of the Motorola brand, and from that point they have rediscovered the RAZR line. The line that was the first one to make the company an icon in the mobile sphere and what a device they have chosen to stamp the name onto. The device that carries this heavy burden on its shoulders is the Motorola DROID RAZR XT910 and the company could not have chosen a more capable piece of hardware to bank its hopes on.
The device has a beautiful 4.3 inch AMOLED display with Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and GPS. The device has a 3.5mm audio jach as well as an HDMI-out connector. Under the hood is a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU supplemented by 1 GB RAM and 16 GB built-in storage. An 8 megapixel camera helps complete the device’s high-end specs. The most important ammo in the device’s arsenal lies in the thinness of the device. At a mere 7.1mm thin, the device beats the Galaxy S II by a millimeter and a half which is a marked difference when you hold the two device in your hands. The feel of the device is one of a premium handset which is enhanced by the textured back compared to the plasticky back of the Galaxy S II. With all this in mind, we should remember that the Galaxy S II which this device will really come head to head with was launched back in April ’11, a full 7 months before the RAZR.
